Every June in Denver, Colorado, the INATS show hosts the annual COVR awards<\/a>. AND \u2014 Award winner – Color and Conjure pulls 3 awards in June<\/p>\n

Last year when Color and Conjure was released, the author requested Llewellyn Worldwide<\/a> entry our book in the nominations category for coloring books. To which they happily agreed. The I promptly forgot about it. Because, you know, life and all.<\/p>\n

Back in May, I got an invite to go to Denver for the annual ceremony. Color and Conjure was chosen as a finalist. It was the only finalist – so winning the category was kind of a given, but that’s another story.<\/p>\n

New job keeps me home<\/h4>\n

Sadly, I became a full-time employee at my new job in February. Whisking across the country was neither physically, nor financially feasible. But one of the hardworking people over at Llewellyn agreed to accept the award in my place. She promised to mail it to me after the event. Then I forgot about it – for the most part – again.<\/p>\n

Mid June, my wonderful co-author, Natalie Zaman, emailed me scans of several awards. I wasn’t expecting them. I didn’t even realize they were being handed out.<\/p>\n

Color and Conjure wins 3 times<\/h4>\n

Not only is Color and Conjure a gold seal winner of “Coloring Book 2018,” but it also won both “People’s Choice” and “Industry Choice” for 2018 in the books category. Not a bad June if I do say so myself.<\/p>\n

The trouble with winning awards is that now I have to come up with something even better and more exciting and bigger and and and…<\/p>\n

I had thought about doing a full-on tarot deck, but creating both a full deck of cards and a companion booklet while working a 40 hour per week job seemed a bit more than I could manage.
