IMC Day 5 Progress on Tristan and Isolde

I’m running into more trouble with the tablet. Looks as if it’s dying after all these years. I won’t know for sure until I get home and plug back into my regular set-up though. (One of my fellow students offered to send me a Intuos he isn’t using. That would be SO awesome.)

I spent yesterday morning scribbling on a bunch of thumbnails to work out my color palette and details. After the morning lecture (which I nodded off in) I start laying in the first color washes. After I got most items colored, I decide the line work was way too heavy. I went back and fiddled with the line weight and color until I final hit on something that wasn’t blowing out the color.

I still have a long way to go to get all the details worked out, but local color is defined. The PC system keep alerting me to high CPU usage. The poor dear, it’s trying it’s best, but it just can’t keep up with what I’m telling it to do. I have a feeling I’m going to have to do a lot of revision once I return home and have my iMAC back.

I couldn’t keep my eyes open last night, so I was in bed “early” before 1 am. I feel a bit less draggy today, and am looking forward to NOT falling asleep in the lectures. Hee.
